Celtics Take Game 1 of NBA Finals with Dominant Win

Boston Celtics Defeat Dallas Mavericks 107-89

Kristaps Porzingis Returns with 20 Points for Dallas

In a stunning display of dominance, the Boston Celtics cruised past the Dallas Mavericks 107-89 in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night.

The Celtics, who took an early lead, never looked back, controlling the tempo of the game and suffocating the Mavericks' offense. Despite the return of Kristaps Porzingis from a calf injury, who dropped 20 points, Dallas struggled to keep pace.

Boston's depth proved too much for the Mavericks, with five players scoring in double figures. Jayson Tatum led the way with 25 points, while Jaylen Brown added 22. Kemba Walker, Gordon Hayward, and Daniel Theis each contributed over 10 points.

The Mavericks, who were hoping to make a statement in the opening game of the series, struggled to find their footing offensively. Luka Dončić, who was held to just 18 points, and Kyrie Irving, who scored 15, combined for just 33 points on a combined 10-of-34 shooting.

The Celtics' victory gives them a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Game 2 will be played on Sunday night in Boston.
